10 DESIGNER PIECES TO INVEST IN
As you know when it comes to fashion I’m a spender, or better said a shopaholic. That being said, when it comes to luxury items I think about it a little more...
For me it just doesn’t make sense to spend too much on something I will probably only use twice... I see luxury items as an investment rather than an expense and that's why I tend to only buy timeless stuff that I can use forever and potentially pass on to my daughter one day. Just so you can understand where I’m coming from, here is a list of luxury items I think you should invest in:
1. Cartier Love Bracelet. Simple and fabulous is the definition of fashion for me, and that's what this bracelet is. This can be passed on through generations since it's a timeless classic.
2. Manolo Blahnik Pumps. Manolo shoes have become a go-to for women. They are sleek and sophisticated, and you can dress them up or dress them down.
3. Chanel Sling Back Shoes. Something I love is shoes! A shoe that you can wear with anything, think no more. The Chanel sling-back shoe for me is everything. You can wear them during your day-to-day activities and for special occasions.
4. Gucci Princetown Loafers. Loafers are a statement piece that can define the gap between business and casual. They are very comfortable and you can use them if you are going to walk for a while.
5. YSL Belt. A belt is the perfect/classic way to add a pop to a basic outfit. This simple accessory can make an outfit standout. The Belts are usually one of the more affordable things from a luxury brand, so if you are looking to make your first luxury item purchase you can never go wrong with this belt.
6. Chanel 2.55 Flap Bag Chanel bags are an investment, they increase in price over time. They are also timeless and versatile. This is my dream bag.
7. Cartier Watch. I'm not a watch person at all, but I have always loved the look of a classic watch. The sleek and clean lines are what truly make it timeless.
8. Burberry Kensington Trench Coat. This coat has been in style forever, literally. If you live in the Caribbean like me you can use it during rainy days, but if you live in a place where you have seasons you can use it year-round
9. Hermes Birkin. The Hermes Birkin is a status symbol in my opinion. Obviously, if I have the opportunity to get offered one I would definitely go for it. With that being said, I think it’s a great everyday bag for those who can afford it. I can’t. lol
10. Louis Vuitton Neverfull. This is Louis Vuitton's most iconic tote that has been around for almost two decades. Its functionality as a carry all tote has been used for work meetings and also for moms on the run.
I hope this list helps guide you in making a smart decision when buying luxury items. Remember it's not about trends. It’s about your style and how many items you can use it with. If it helps, I always try creating 5/10 outfits to have in my mind with the luxury item before deciding to buy it, just to make sure I'm really going to use it.
